Vasco’s specialist knowledge that bridge both language and technology is at the core of everything that is built at Unbabel.

Vasco is bilingual Portuguese and English and speaks enough Japanese to order a round of sake.

Keynote by Bibop Gresta: Crowdsourcing the future. The building of the Hyperloop

(Click for details)

How do you put together a diverse team of contributors that have built bridges, brands, automobiles, spaceships, skyscrapers, super computers and airplanes, with a goal to provide the world with the next quantum step in mobility: sustainable, safe and super fast transportation for all humans and all parts of the world?

The Hyperloop™ Transportation System is the 5th mode of transportation. A capsule is hovering inside a tube with low air pressure. Similar to an Airplane in high altitude the capsule now encounters less resistance. The remaining air in front of the capsule is moved to the back using a compressor, which allows for high speeds of 760mph with very little energy consumption. The system was designed with the ground-level infrastructure footprint in mind. The entire tube system is built on pylons, lowering land acquisition costs and insulating it from ambient weather conditions. Engineered pylons render the structure earthquake stable and crash proof, as well as self-sustaining through a contained solar plant located atop the tubes.
